According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, the following groups are cautioned NOT to get the flu shot:
- Infants under 6 months of age
- Anyone allergic to eggs, egg products, or other components of the vaccine (egg-allergic individuals may be able to receive the trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine if they have been assessed by their physician)
- Anyone with a previous allergic reaction to the flu shot
- Anyone with a high fever at the time of vaccination
- Anyone who has Guillian Barré Syndrome
