Treatment and support

Mental health conditions need to be taken seriously and may require medical and psychological intervention.

Unfortunately, stigma associated with mental health sometimes stops people from reaching out to friends, family, physicians or other treatment providers for advice, leaving the impression that there is very little hope. However, there are effective treatments for many common mental health conditions.

At the root of any mental health disorder is a combination of biological, psychological and social factors. The most well-known treatments include therapy, medication and self-care. You will need to consult your physician or health care provider about which treatment is appropriate for you.

It is important to remember that the earlier you seek help - the better the chances for treatment to be successful. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of strength!
