Preparation checklist

Introduction   Before you start, use this checklist to ensure you are ready to proceed with the "Submit a contribution" process. Please review the checklist for the method that applies to your submission.

    1. created a contribution file based on the pre-formatted template provided by Manulife Financial?   Follow the Contribution file instructions.
    2. determined the contribution period (for a group savings plan) or the trade date (for a share ownership plan) for which you are submitting?   Check "Contribution history" for the period of the last contribution submitted.
    3. updated the data on the contribution file to match the contribution period/trade date?   Update the data on the file to match the contribution period/trade date.
    4. checked that the total of all the contribution categories under the Member records matches the total amount stated in the header of the file?   Re-calculate the column totals. Adjust the total accordingly.
    5. saved the file you are submitting as a Text Tab delimited (.txt) file?   Reopen your file and save as type "Text Tab delimited (.txt)".
    6. decided on a Payment method?   Review the Payment methods available.
    7. enroled any new members for which you are submitting contributions?   Complete the "Enrol a member" function for each new member by canceling the "Submit a contribution" process then selecting the function from the side menu.
     
        If you answered "Yes" to all the above, you are now ready to "Send your contribution file."

    4. enroled any new members for which you are submitting contributions?   Complete the "Enrol a member" function for each new member by canceling the "Submit a contribution" process then selecting the function from the side menu.
     
        If you answered "Yes" to all the above, you are now ready to "Prepare your contribution listing."
