Matthew Foss’ biography

Matthew Foss is currently the Director of Business Analysis for Natural Gas and Conventional Oil in the Economics and Markets Group at the Alberta Department of Energy. Matthew joined the Alberta Energy in 2003 as part of the natural gas policy group and received responsibility for conventional oil as well in 2009. Matthew is a graduate from the University of Calgary where he received his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts First Class Honours in Economics. Matthew spent several years at the Canadian Energy Research Institute (CERI) prior to joining the Department of Energy. At CERI he was responsible for natural gas price forecasting and involved in several reports related to the natural gas industry. Matthew has also taught natural gas related economics courses at the University of Calgary.
