Protect your travels with Manulife Travel Insurance!

Help protect yourself and your family against unexpected medical costs, and more, when you're travelling.

Why is travel insurance important?

Your government health insurance plan may only cover a limited amount of emergency medical costs. So find the plan below that works best for you and your family – it can help cover not only emergency medical costs, but also trip cancellation, trip interruption, baggage loss, travel accidents and more.

Choose the plan that’s right for you

These plans are ideal when you are taking only one trip within a 12-month period

Plans we offer include:

Extend an existing plan

Top Up coverage allows you to purchase coverage for extra days if:

  • You already bought a Multi-Trip Plan from us; or
  • You bought a similar product (often called an "annual plan") from another insurer; or
  • You have coverage through your credit card provider and/or employer.

For example, suppose you bought a Multi-Trip Plan with up to 10 days of coverage per trip. However, during your period of coverage, you planned a trip for 15 days. In order to have emergency medical coverage for the whole 15 days, you can purchase a Top Up from us for the extra 5 days of that particular trip.

If you would like to buy this product to add to the coverage on an annual plan from another insurer, or to travel insurance provided by your credit card provider, it is your responsibility to confirm that top-up coverage is permitted on your existing plan and to be aware of any terms and conditions that may apply as a result. The Top Up Plan has all the benefits of the Single-Trip Emergency Medical Plan.

Get coverage for your visitors

Do you have visitors coming from another country? If so, they may not be covered by our government health plans if they require medical attention – and that may result in very high medical expenses. You can help them or yourself with the financial protection of a Visitors to Canada Plan. This plan meets the mandatory Super Visa insurance requirements.

  • Ambulance transportation
  • Emergency medical return home

You can choose from one of five maximum coverage amounts: $15,000; $25,000; $50,000; $100,000; or $150,000.

Trip Interruption

Add this option to the above coverage to help protect visitors from expenses related to the need to return home due to an unexpected event.
